Hi Carla, Chloe, Jason, Megan, and Neha! I really enjoyed reading your Interactive Learning Resource! You did an excellent job!

First, I would like to say that I really like the way you organized the document! The grey headings help separate and make everything very clear. You started off by provided a very good explanation of the learning theory (constructivism), and of your learning design methods. I have never used or heard of Nearpod, and have never used FreshGrade, but it sounds like you would use them in an excellent way to benefit all of the students’ learning. These pieces of technology sound very useful and I am going to look into using them in the future! You had some great images and diagrams throughout your resource for the lessons and for the examples, like the pictures for the misconceptions. These help show and explain what the lessons and topics will be about in a clear visual way. I really like how you put the essential questions with the lesson, learning outcomes, activity, context, assessment, and materials all underneath. I think it is helpful in showing what connects to which parts of the lesson and it explains how in a very clear way. I think you did a really great job with inclusion and making sure students are able to participate, even from home. Allowing students to record answers using photos and videos when it is too difficult for them to provide answers in another way is a great way to include students with a learning barrier, like dyslexia. The activities you have come up with seem excellent. I strongly believe that students would really benefit from them and would learn a lot about perimeter from participating in them. It is also good that they involve students getting up and moving around instead of just sitting at a desk, as well as interaction and collaboration with other students to help further their learning and understanding of the topics. I really like how you refer back to previous lessons or mention that the students will learn something more in later lessons that relates to an earlier one. This really shows how the different activities are connected. I also love the activity you have in lesson 5 about building an enclosure for a zoo animal, as well as the extension activity where they are all put together to form one big zoo. I think these are great ways to show students about the uses of perimeter in the real world.

There are only a few small areas I found that could maybe be improved upon. First, with the learning outcomes, you could maybe add in what each one addresses specifically, like whether it involves the students understanding, applying, evaluating, etc. There were also a couple of assessment sections that could have a little bit more detail added to the descriptions (mainly the first assessment). You could maybe touch on what the teacher would do. Next, I really like the idea for your second activity under the second essential question, but perhaps there are some more details that could be given about the activity, or even examples of items that students could estimate the measurements of. I may be reading the sentence wrong, and if I am please ignore this comment, but under the second essential question, in the first sentence about the first activity, it says “a teacher-led slides”, and I was just wondering if the “a” was meant to be there? The way I read this sentence, I felt that the “a” was not needed there. Also, just one little format issue, is that on some of the pages the spacing or layout seems to have moved the end of the box off the page. Also, on the last page there is a small empty box at the top. Otherwise, there was nothing else that stood out to me! This interactive resource is very well done! I am glad I was able to read your work. Great job everyone!
