Hi Nina! I really like the statements that you mentioned from Shelley Moore’s interview. They stood out to me too, especially the one about how everyone in the community is a teacher. I had not thought about this idea much before listening to this interview, but I strongly agree with it. I realized that I learn from everyone in my life, and this happens in different situations almost every day.

The National Pride Conference sounds very interesting and like it would be a great learning experience. I like what you said about exposure playing a big role in expanding our PLN’s. I agree with this, and I think that we need to explore and reach out to people in order to learn from others. I also really like what you said about putting ourselves in uncomfortable situations, and learning about perspectives that are not our own. I believe that these are excellent ways to learn, and great ways to help learn more about inclusion because you are listening to ideas or information that you do not normally hear. I really enjoyed reading your post!

Hi Tori! I like how you discussed how online tools can provide us with opportunities to learn about our students if they have a learning challenge that we are unfamiliar with. I strongly agree with this, and I believe that building connections through social media can be very beneficial because we then have people in the same field that may have knowledge and experience they can share to help us.

I also agree with what you said about how not all learners learn in the same way, and that we need to present the material in different ways, like using videos or hands on activities in order to help and include all students. Some students will learn best with videos, but others may not be able to sit and watch a video, and they need to be up and moving for the information to stick. I believe that all students learn differently, and they all have their strengths, so discovering what these are and addressing them while teaching will help students learn the best they can. Social media is a great tool that can be used to take and share ideas with other educators. Great job with your post!
